DEFINING EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION

According the reading Defining Educational innovation teachers and professional English Teachers have to be open to the changes in their pedagogical practice. This idea has been influence by some people like Adams and Chen since 1981, and since the 60´s and 70´s. I think that many people can provide us tools and ideas but the changes depend of us.
There are many professional with a poor mind, and the advices are just in papers and they continue using their old techniques and methods and the use of innovation is hiding, and the unique people affected are our students.
We as teachers have to implement technology, innovated practices and new activities. We have to be creative and receive all the help with pleasure and try to improve it with our own knowledge in order to create good English classes and a good environment to our students, and try to teach the language in the best way and achieve what we want, and the dream of all the English teachers; bilingual students in our public high schools.
Also we have to take into account the limitations teachers have in the schools, because sometimes the usage of technology is impossible because of the location of the institution, frequently some of them do not possess electricity or the necessary equipment like computers, or internet is not accessible to students.
It is our responsibility and we have to look for the ways to implement innovation in our classes.

UK Destination - Analysis

Innovating activities in the educational process is much more than simply using technology in class in order to catch the students attention, it means motivating students to learn through activities which are not the traditional ones, besides it is very important to take into account more issues related to the language with the purpose of involving students not only in an grammatical aspects related to the language, but also in important aspects like culture.
The activities presented by our group were mainly focus on culture from countries in English is spoken like native language, since commonly a second or foreign language is taught by implementing theory and grammar, but students do not learn how to have communication successfully given that they ignore culture, for this reason our presentation tried to show and represent different feathers related to UK like slangs, food, places and cities which can easily motivate students to improve their knowledge toward the new language.
